Book: Little Cloud

Little Cloud
by Eric Carle

Puffy Puffy Little Cloud
How you look so big and proud
Up above me in the sky
Every day you mystify
Puffy Puffy Little Cloud
Each new shape just leaves me wowed

Note: I just *happened* to pick this book up at the library a few days ago and left it lying around our family room – one of the best ways to encourage reading, btw.

Well wouldn’t you know, it’s become Nick’s favorite book.

Eric Carle falls into kiddie-crack territory. I just thought the book was cute, but Nick is fascinated by it. Simple plot – Little Cloud floats around, makes funny shapes – an airplane, a rabbit, a clown – then hooks up with the other clouds to make it rain. Now when we’re outside we play “spot the shape” in the sky. Give it up for cheap entertainment!

Bonus:
Pair this book with kiddie-crack favorite David Wiesner’s trippy Sector 7.
