When you wish upon a child
Makes no difference – strong or mild
Anything your heart desires
Can come true
Make a wish that’s free of pride
Ego, fear or dreams denied
Love your children as they are
As they love you
Note: The first time I read this book to Nick I cried – no wait, I sobbed. It’s that beautiful – without being sappy. The text is deceptively simple (yet stunningly deep) and paired with rich, realistic paintings (with multi-cultural families – yay!).
It’s a touching reminder of what parenting is about.
