Book: Why Does It Fly?

They fly through the air
But I’ve no idea how
So when Nick asks me questions
I point and say “WOW!”

Thank goodness for books like
Why Does It Fly?
We learned something new
And it’s super-cheap to buy

Note: With the Chicago Air and Water Show upon us, what better time to brush up on some aeronautics.

This book covers the parts of a plane, wing design, and concepts like thrust, drag and lift in eye-catching illustrations narrated by an intrepid young mouse named Christopher. Whether or not Nick can explain gravity (also covered) after reading this book is less important to me than the fact that he sits through the whole 32 pages, and demands to read it over and over.

The kiddo brain is a giant recording machine, so he must be getting something out of it!
