Peaches are dandy
And grapes are just fine
But don’t ask me to share
For this watermelon’s MINE

I grew it myself
I planted the vine
I watched day and night
Yes this watermelon’s MINE

The flavor is heaven
The juice divine
I’d offer a taste
But this watermelon’s MINE

Note: Pity the poor folks of Chestnut Cove. A watermelon contest has gone to their heads and they’ve forgotten what it means to be a community. Thank goodness that isn’t the case in Rogers Park…
