*the Grouch, not Peterson

Oh I love Jazz
Anything swingin’ or scattin’ or hoppin’
Anything ragtime or cool or beboppin’
I love it because it’s Jazz

I have here a CD set
Cheaper than sin
From Ella to Brubeck
To Duke Ellington
We’ve played it so much
That the disks have worn thin
We love it because it’s Jazz

Note: 3 CD’s means 3 places to play jazz – in Nick’s room, the family room and the car. Don’t be surprised if your kiddo wants to hear the same song 4 weeks in a row. For us, it was a month of Nat King Cole‘s “Kee-Mo, KY-MO”, followed by a month of Louis Jordan‘s “Ain’t Nobody Here But Us Chickens”, followed by….you get the idea.

This really is an amazing collection and a fantastic (and cheap!) way to introduce young ears to this great American art form.
